What Causes Acne?
Acne can occur at any age, to any ethnicity and on any skin type! None of us are safe, but there is hope! It’s caused by several factors, the main culprits being excess oil, clogged pores, bacteria, and inflammation. To explain the science of a breakout we need to first know about Sebum. Sebum is a naturally occurring oil that prevents skin from drying out. It is a necessity of healthy skin but in moderation. When excess oil is produced and dead skin cells accumulate on the surface of the skin, clogged pores result. A clogged oxygen-starved pore is the ideal causing bacteria. THe longer a pore is clogged, the more these bacteria flourish, causing inflammation and infection under the skin.
Before Treatment – OIl and dead skin cells collect around and within the pore eventually clogging the pore which promotes bacterial growth, inflammation and the formation of a pimple
During Treatment - Gentle cleansing, in combination with a mildly exfoliating salicylic acid-based cleanser helps unclog the pore, allowing bacteria-killing oxygen and treatment ingredients in.
After Treatment – Pores Clearer of excess oil and impurites appear smaller. Blemishes are reduced and skin feels soft, smooth and comfortable.
